> I chose Harvard BBS because I wanted to train in an environment that would challenge me intellectually while giving me the freedom to explore my scientific interests. I was particularly drawn to the program's interdisciplinary nature and the opportunity to learn from scientists approaching biological questions from different perspectives. What has stood out to me most is the supportive and collaborative community, where scientific curiosity, mentorship, and independent thinking are encouraged.

> I am a second-year PhD students in Dr. Peter Tsvetkov's lab, where I study the mechanisms regulating mitochondrial protein lipoylation, an essential modification for cellular metabolism. My research combines genetic screening, biochemistry, and proteomics to identify previously unknown regulators of this process and understand how cells coordinate mitochondrial function in response to metabolic demands. Through this work, I hope to contribute to our understanding of mitochondrial biology in human health and disease.
