Faculty Resources

Below is an inventory of resources for faculty to access in the event students need resources from the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and/or HMS Office of Graduate Education.

HMS Core for Mentorship Excellence (Faculty Mentors)

The goals for these workshops are to familiarize faculty mentors in the biomedical and related sciences with approaches to effective mentoring and to enhance the knowledge and skills of mentors across a range of competencies including:

  • Maintaining Effective Communication
  • Assessing Understanding
  • Fostering Independence
  • Aligning Expectations
  • Promoting Professional Development

Workshops are based on the Entering Mentoring curriculum developed by the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER). CIMER Research Mentor Training is an evidence-based, interactive approach that engages mentors in collective problem solving and connects them with resources to optimize their mentoring practices.

Faculty members may view current and future CIMER training opportunities here.
