Cammi Valdez, Former BBS Student, Honored with Presidential Award

The White House recently named Cammi Valdez a recipient of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring.

PAESMEM constitutes the nation’s highest honors for mentors of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Valdez is a vascular biologist, faculty member, and champion of making STEM accessible.

As a Latina woman scientist, she is a strong advocate for empowering and advancing women, first generation, LGBTQ, and people of color in STEM.
