One of the key reasons I chose Harvard BBS was Boston itself. There is an unmatched density of science happening here—spanning world-class universities, teaching hospitals, and biotech—along with endless opportunities to collaborate across these spaces. Being surrounded by mentors and peers who have taken their training in different directions has helped me see the full spectrum of possibilities for my own career. BBS actively empowers students to explore those paths, whether in medicine, academia, teaching, industry, or venture capital. The program builds space for us to explore these directions actively, meeting us wherever we are in our career journey.
As an international student, navigating graduate school often involves challenges that extend beyond the bench. Whenever I’ve needed guidance, the leadership and community in BBS have taken my concerns seriously, helped me find concrete solutions, and advocated on my behalf. Knowing the program truly has my back has given me the confidence and clarity to focus on the science I came here to do.
